SieMatic Forum 2010:
The premium kitchen manufacturer demonstratet its as a pioneer with a wide range of handle-free kitchens.
Presenting a new edition of the classic SieMatic 6006 and a redeveloped SieMatic SC 66.
Löhne, Germany, September 19, 2010. In the year of its 50th anniversary, SieMatic Möbelwerke presents a new chapter in the history of the handle-free kitchen. As part of the SieMatic Forum, taking place from the 19th to the 22nd of September 2010, the premium kitchen manufacturer presents the many “faces” of the handle-free kitchen in a variety of forms. This year‘s focuses are a specially crafted anniversary edition of the SieMatic 6006, a true classic among handle-free kitchens, and the new SC 66 whose very contemporary character is accentuated by the handle recess integrated into the door front.
“As the inventors of the handle-free kitchen, we demonstrate once again our leadership with the two new designs,” said Ulrich W. Siekmann, CEO of SieMatic Möbelwerke. “As the original manufacturer to have made the handle part of the cabinet front, we have continued to innovate and improve the handle-free design concept over the years. Today it has reached a degree of visual and tactile perfection which is unique.” Since 1960, the SieMatic handle-free kitchen has been constantly reinvented: the SieMatic SL in the 1980s and the 2000 re-launch of the SieMatic 6006 led the way to the current S1, S2, the new SieMatic SC 66 and this year’s edition of the SieMatic 6006.
A classic modern interpretation: the new SieMatic 6006 KM.
It is simply SieMatic: the 6006. A true design classic, by no means passé, but more current than ever. The characteristic curves, the spirit of the organic forms and structures, define the new SieMatic 6006 KM. The striking design, with its integrated handle and rounded fronts, has influenced kitchen design over the past five decades. Today, this is evident in elements including amongst others, the rounded side panels, the freefloating shelves whose form mimics the curves of the fronts, and the wall units with the elegantly integrated recess handle.
The use of warm earth-tones highlights the delicate and elegant reinterpretation of the kitchen. For the Forum in Löhne, SieMatic presents the 6006 in the impressive greige display, augmented by the Fossil-brown stone countertop with a special contrast: the inclusion of extinct, 65-million-year-old marine animals and the play of different shades of brown give the stone its special charm. The plinths of the tall cabinets incorporate curved grills that double as a unique design element while providing a ventilation solution for refrigeration. Another unique design element is the contrasting stainless steel grip channel providing comfortable operation with little chance of fingers slipping.
The kitchen of many faces: the new SieMatic SC 66 K.
Another variant of the handle-free kitchen from SieMatic is the new SC 66 K. With its minimalist lines, this newly developed design has many iterations: varying depths, open and closed areas paired with expressive ancillary elements all break the uniformity of the handle-free kitchen.
For the Forum in Löhne, the SieMatic SC 66 is presented in black matt which, despite the contemporary design, is reminiscent of the Art Deco style of the 1920s – highlighted by the dark “antique mirror“ in the niche between the tall cabinets. The black recess channel, in combination with the black fronts, imparts subtle color, giving the sideboard the essence of residential furniture while providing the useful functions of a SieMatic kitchen cabinet. The polished stainless steel countertops, like a mirrored niche, are a refined contrast to the matt black of the cabinet fronts and handles. The light oak and white glazed porcelain of the new, versatile interior drawer accessories are highlighted nicely by the black SieMatic SC 66 K.
With an almost “North African“ flair, the SieMatic SC 66 in cashmere grey combined with the matt, patterned tiles, create a contrast with the linear furniture. Emphasis is placed on the half-height side cabinets with the horizontal and deep-grained Titan Walnut laminate fronts that elicit a familiar warmth. The open niches and illuminated shelves characterize this relaxed design of the SieMatic SC 66 with all the kitchen utensils immediately accessible. The dark stone countertop design in the 1-cm slim line look along with the distinctive horizontal black handle creates a delicate linear accent.
